Alexander David Fine Books was founded on a passion for literature spanning four decades.

From the atmospheric dystopias of George Orwell and Ray Bradbury to the sharp satirical wit of Jonathan Swift. We present to you a carefully curated collection of first editions and rare books.

We specialize in rare books spanning the 19th, 20th centuries, and more, across all genres of literary classics. Every book we hold is carefully graded, described, and sourced.

Before dispatch each book is re‑examined to ensure our grading is accurate and the description remains true to condition. We also take great care in packaging and shipping.

When applicable, a new mylar sleeve is applied to the dust jacket. The book is then wrapped in an acid-free pH neutral tissue paper; enclosed in a bubble-wrap; then a cardboard book wrap. All shipments are sent via tracked services and fully insured - with Royal Mail International Tracked or equivalent as standard.

For all direct orders from our website, we also enclose a stamped ivory card insert which acts as a certificate of authenticity and provenance. This includes details of your book such as: author; title; publisher; edition and grade. Our card insert is an acid-free pH neutral high quality card stamped with a natural oil-based pigment ink.
